Background information

Mika has significant experience in Finnish and cross-border M&A and financial transactions in the Nordic area and Russia. Mika has, throughout his career, served principally the interests of foreign clients in complex financing and M&A transactions taking place in Finland.

The most notable transactions have been prominent public-to-private transactions and more recently corporate restructurings and complex inter-creditor issues. He has spent a considerable amount of his time in Oxford carrying out research and where he also co-headed the Oxford University financial law discussion group.

Coupled with many years of practical experience, this has given him a good understanding of the demands of international clients and also of English and US law and market practices. During the last few years, he has lectured and written extensively on voluntary restructurings and financial law. He is a permanent lecturer for the Chamber of Commerce on financial law, inter-creditor issues and M&A and has written considerably on English and Finnish financial law. Chambers Global, Chambers Europe and IFLR1000 have listed him as a leading lawyer in Banking & Finance in Finland.
